The oldest tree has no sign on it

Methuselah is a Great Basin bristlecone pine in California’s White Mountains. It is more than 4,800 years old—it was already ancient when the pyramids went up.

It grows along a public trail. You can walk right past it, and most people do, because there is no marker, no plaque, no arrow. The Forest Service will not say which one it is.

A tree that famous with a sign on it is a tree people take pieces of.
